Personal Injury
This area of the law involves civil cases designed to obtain compensation for injury to your person. Personal injury claims usually involves negotiations with the opposing party or their insurance company. If negotiations are not successful, the case may go to trial based on the ability to prove negligence and liability. Before an injured individual can collect an award, the defendant must be found liable for the injury or accident through direct fault or negligence. If there is a failure to exercise reasonable care, then there may be negligence. Once liability and negligence have been established, the judge or the jury may award money to compensate for medical costs, lost wages, lost future earnings, and pain and suffering. Here are examples of some of my successes:

• Recovered $375,000 for a client whose pre-existing lower back injury was aggravated in a minor rear end collision.
• Recovered $35,000 for a client involved in an auto accident that resulted in no damage to the vehicle.
• Recovered $450,000 for a construction worker who suffered a bruised back as the result of a fall from scaffolding.
• Recovered $113,000 for a worker who suffered a hand injury caused by a drill press.
• Recovered $185,000 for a worker who injured his knee on a loading dock.

Motor Vehicle Accidents-Many personal injuries result from motor vehicle accidents involving motorcycles, automobiles, and semi-trucks. Motor vehicle accidents may involve negligence on the part of drivers, including drunk driving and reckless behavior. If you are injured in a motor vehicle accident, my firm can assist you in receiving compensation for your injuries, lost wages, and other damages.

Premises Liability-Injuries suffered on another's property, whether in a home, on a sidewalk, or in a commercial building or shop, are often the result of negligent maintenance or even complete disregard for the safety of others. If you or a family member have been injured in a fall or other accident away from your home, you may have a premises liability claim.

Sexual Abuse-I represent victims of sexual abuse that was inflicted by members of the clergy, teachers, coaches, babysitters, or a parent's girlfriend or boyfriend in claims for damages against the abuser.

Workers' Compensation-I represent employees who are injured on the job in claims for lost wages and medical treatment expenses against private industry, state, and local government employers and their workers' compensation insurers. My firm handles issues dealing with defenses, fraud, subrogation, and appeals.
